09:26 am - Hello!
I created this community quite some time ago, but got lazy. lol I created it for future and current residents to be able to make friends, bitch, praise and so on. There are only three members so far, but I suppose that's what happens when there are no posts. :)

MW Lofts Blows

(Link)
I would NOT recommend Motor Wheel Lofts. I have lived there for 5 months now and my current roommate has been with them for 17 months. The management provides ZERO customer service and are only interested in making money. They will give you false promises upon false promises and will never follow through. They will tell you what ever they need to get you off their back for that day and renege on it later.

If you want to live in a nice place but have to put up with the worst management whose only interest is the bottom line, MW Lofts is the place for you.

Also, if you think being a current resident will give you benefit over some one who is just coming off the street to rent, you are mistaken. if they can get more money from the new person, you are screwed.

yeah, i've had a lot of problems too. most of the problems i've had have been electrical problems. you're right about them saying things to get your off your back, then not doing much. they're all really nice, but that doesn't get shit done. :( considering what we pay in rent, one would expect much better service. unfortunately, there's nothing else similar in the area, and they know it. :(

I thought I was the only one! Of course, with the complete lack of community, who would even know if your neighbors were having the same problems you are.

My partner's $1,000 bike was stolen from the garage this summer. Instead of offering any sort of help or apology, the management was extremely rude and accusatory. I tried to post fliers in the building to see if anyone else had been affected, but they were quickly taken down and I was told that this was against MW policy. When I asked if a message could be posted to the website, I was completely ignored. I'm moving out in January and can't wait to get away from the place.

I'm also disappointed with the lack of community. There are a few people we see fairly often and are friendly with, but there are a lot of people who will barely look at someone else's face. Also, people leaving their dog's shit all over outside rather than picking it up, trash outside and in the parking garage and a general lack of respect for other people.

So far though, most of the people I've talked to have also been having similar problems. I also used to think they did a really good job insulating between the units, but it turned out we just didn't have any neighbors yet. lol

I'm sorry your partner's bike was stolen. :(

I signed another year lease but I doubt we'll stay another year.

I'm lucky if anyone even says 'hi' to me! My partner tried to chat with the person that moved in next to me and he wouldn't even speak to him! Guess scary tattooed men are a bit too much for some folks to handle...

When I moved in last January, it was so quiet. I was pretty much the only person on my floor at this end of the building. Now I hear one of my neighbors blowing up god knows what with his gaming sound system cranked up almost daily.

I happened upon this group pretty randomly, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one feeling this way about this place.

wow

interesting site. One wall in your unit is thinner than the opposite tenant wall, so one wall may have more sound transmission than the other however they should both be just as sound proof. I am curious to know what your loft living experience is like, i designed all of your lofts along with most of the lofts in town and i would really appreciate any comments (hopefully constructive) that you might have regarding things that you like, don't like and any other items that you would like to see in future loft projects.

hate that place

wow i thought i was the only one. sorry im posting this twice because i want other readers who are considering living here to read it...
so glad i moved out of there. i hated every second living there, the staff has absolutely no customer service. sure, the apartments are nice but i felt like i was in high school when i was arguing with them. harry, the owner, has cussed myself, my roommate, and my FRIENDS out numerous times. he doesn't care about his tenants, he just wants money and will show you absolutely NO respect whatsoever. he is the biggest prick i've ever met. nothing ever was fixed while living there and our windows leaked all winter long but nothing could be done they said because the company was from indiana. their lease agreement is bullshit, they do not follow it by any means. they make stuff up as they go along. i received by security deposit check today, supposed to be $700...only $300!!!! nicks and nail holes are not considered DAMAGE. i knew something else would go wrong and i would have to show my face in there again. why won't they just let us be on our way out of that place? do not live here if you are contemplating, you will regret it. no parking whatsoever, they want you to walk across may street in downtown lansing where murders have happened. i'm a 5 foot 90 lbs girl and there is no way i am doing that at night. but they didn't care. our cars were hit repeatedly because it is so tight. live somewhere else, it is not worth it.

I moved in about 2 months ago and thought the community here would be a lot nicer. I figure everyone is paying a lot of money. I want to make a dog walking group or something. I am sure alot of the women would enjoy another girl and her dog accompanying them on walks around lansing.

Oh yeah, and Harry is very rude. Completely condescending. Talked to me like a child and embarrassed me in front of MW staff, and my fiance. If it wasn't for his adorable dog - which is probably where are the "un-picked up dog waste" comes from, I would go out of my way to let people know about him before coming here.

same here, i expected more from the community environment.

i completely agree about harry. also, we've seen him leave his dog's poop a few times. it's pretty unlikely we'll stay a third year, not that harry cares if people leave.
